Great Eat by Color Way to Get Healthy Fats, Anti Inflammatory Foods and More! A great place to shop for healthy fats is in your local grocery store. We hit our local Hyvee and met with Registered Dietician Lisa and did a walk through the bulk area. We focused on bulk nuts and seeds which are a great source of healthy fats.

 

Why are healthy fats important?

  • Anit Flammatory, they can contribute to reduced inflammation
  • Cholesterol, they can lower bad cholesterol and total cholesterol while increasing good cholesterol
  • High in Fiber, fiber keeps us regular, aids in healthy cholesterol levels, and keeps us full longer
  • Hormones, fat plays a role in the production of all hormones

 

Where can you find them?

  • Nuts, especially walnuts
  • Oils, Olive Flax
  • Seeds, Flax Seed
  • Meal, Flax Meal
  • Fish, Cold Water Fish like Salmon or Albacore Tuna
  • Capsules, Fish Oil, EPA/DHA

 

How do you use them?

  • Nuts and seeds can be used as a snack, on salad or oatmeal
  • Oils on salads, vegetables, and even in protein shakes
  • Capsules taken as part of your daily routine
  • Fish as a great alternative to the same old chicken and beef

 

The cool thing about the bulk section. You can mix and match nuts and seeds to make your own healthy fat trail mix. Almost every grocery store has them. So if on the road or with kids for travel sports you can hit the grocery store and make some healthy trail mix. Plus this is totally weather proof. High heat and extreme cold will not ruin this healthy fat snack.
